Pickleball in Palm Coast, Florida

Palm Coast has a much larger organized pickleball option than the neighborhood courts alone suggest. The City's Southern Recreation Center on Belle Terre Parkway has 12 dedicated pickleball courts, including six covered courts, with open play, instruction, leagues, tournaments, and court reservations.

For free casual play, James F. Holland Memorial Park and Belle Terre Park have shared tennis-and-pickleball courts. Holland Park is especially convenient if you do not own a portable net because the City loans pickleball nets at no charge through the Palm Coast Community Center.

Where to Play Pickleball in Palm Coast

  • Southern Recreation Center, 1290 Belle Terre Parkway. This City facility has 12 dedicated outdoor pickleball courts with SportsMaster Pro Cushion surfaces. Six courts are covered and six are uncovered. The center offers open play, court reservations, instructional programs, leagues, and tournaments. Pass holders can reserve seven days ahead, and the general public can reserve up to three days ahead. A punch card is optional and is not required to play. Regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, subject to weather, maintenance, and events. Check Southern Recreation Center courts and programs.
  • James F. Holland Memorial Park, 18 Florida Park Drive. Three tennis courts and one junior-sized tennis court have pickleball lines and LED lighting. Players need a pickleball net for casual play. Nets can be borrowed at no charge from the Palm Coast Community Center at 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE. The courts can also be rented for organized events and gatherings. Check Holland Park information.
  • Belle Terre Park, 339 Parkview Drive. Three lighted tennis courts can also be used for pickleball. The park has parking and restrooms and is open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. These are shared courts rather than the dedicated pickleball setup available at the Southern Recreation Center. Check Belle Terre Park information.
  • Hammock Community Park, 79 Malacompra Road. This Flagler County park east of Palm Coast includes public pickleball courts along with a community center, playground, basketball, and other recreation facilities. It is useful for players near the Hammock and A1A corridor. Check Hammock Community Park information.
  • A1A Tennis Courts, 5633 N. Oceanshore Blvd. These Flagler County tennis courts along the coast have painted pickleball lines and lights. Pickleball players need to bring their own portable nets. Check A1A Tennis Courts information.

Getting Started

Start at the Southern Recreation Center if you want structured instruction. The City offers pickleball clinics and lessons there, with programming for different playing levels. Sylvia Whitehouse serves as the facility's pickleball professional and provides City-authorized instruction. Check the current program calendar before registering because clinics and class times change.

The Southern Recreation Center also offers organized open play, giving newer players a more realistic path into the local playing community than simply arriving at an empty neighborhood court. Check current Southern Recreation Center pickleball programs.

Open Play, Leagues, and Tournaments

The Southern Recreation Center is the main destination for organized pickleball in Palm Coast. The City uses its 12 courts for open play, leagues, instructional programs, and tournaments. Open play provides a better option for players arriving without a complete group, and the facility's covered courts can keep some play going during ordinary rain when conditions remain safe.

The center also hosts City pickleball tournaments and other competitive events. Use the Southern Recreation Center page for current programs, reservations, and operating status before heading over.

Visiting Palm Coast and Looking for a Game?

Go to the Southern Recreation Center first if finding other players is your priority. It has 12 dedicated courts and organized open play, and the general public can reserve courts without purchasing a long-term pass. Check the current open-play schedule and facility status before your visit.

If you already have partners and want a simpler public-park game, Holland Park and Belle Terre Park are useful in-town alternatives. Holland Park requires a pickleball net, though the City makes nets available to borrow at no charge from the Palm Coast Community Center. Belle Terre provides lighted shared courts and stays open until 10:00 PM.

Players staying along the coast can also consider Hammock Community Park or the A1A Tennis Courts. Bring a portable net to A1A because its pickleball setup uses lined tennis courts rather than dedicated pickleball courts.
